Royal Challengers Bengaluru

Based in Banglore, the capital of the Indian state Karnataka is the 2011 Champions League T20 runner-up – Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Founded in 2008, the franchise has competed in every iteration of the Indian Premier League. 

Led by ‘The Wall’ Rahul Dravid in the tournament’s inaugural season. Named after the owner, United Spirits’ popular whiskey – Royal Challengers – the team enjoys an immense fan following despite the massive setbacks. 

The M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru is their home ground and former Zimbabwe great Andy Flower is their head coach. Former Indian captain, Virat Kohli is currently at the helm as the captain. However, despite the squad’s setbacks, they have qualified for the playoffs a total of nine times including three runners-up finishes – in 2009, 2011 & 2016.
