Mumbai Indians

Mumbai Indians, one of the most popular and people’s favorite IPL teams, was founded in the year 2008. The team is owned by Reliance Industries through its subsidiary, Indiawin Sports! 

Back in 2007, when the Board of Control of Cricket in India ( BCCI) established the Indian Premier League, a Twenty20 Cricket Show to air in 2008, along with other eight city-specific franchises, Mumbai Indians was one of them.  

Reliance Industries Ltd., owned by Mukesh Ambani, bought the Mumbai Indians for $111.9 million, which makes the team one of the most expensive teams ever. 

The team’s logo symbolizes the Sudarshan Chakra ( Razor) and was previously supposed to be named the Mumbai Razors. It was soon suggested by the legend Sachin Tendulakar that the name could be rather Mumbai Indians! 

The team has bagged 5 trophies till 2024 under the Captainship of Rohit Sharma They were victorious in 2013, 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2020. 

At the very first player auctions held during the inaugural IPL season in 2008, the Mumbai franchise bought a number of well-known international cricket stars, including Sanath Jayasuriya, Harbhajan Singh, Robin Uthappa, Lasith Malinga, and Shaun Pollock!

Since the 2024 edition, Hardik Pandya has been captaining the Mumbai Indians. Can Mumbai Indians Win IPL 2025 Title ? Only time will tell!
