Kolkata Knight Riders

Three-time title winners, Kolkata Knight Riders is certainly a powerhouse in the Indian Premier League. Owned by the duo of Bollywood stars – Shahrukh Khan, and Juhi Chawla and her business magnet husband Jay Mehta, KKR has enjoyed a horde of loyal fans since the team’s founding 17 years back in 2008. 

KKR as they’re popularly known is one of the first eight teams that participated in the inaugural season. West Bengal’s iconic Eden Garden serves as the team’s home ground. Unlike, Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings who were banned for a brief stint, KKR has always been a solid presence in the limited-over tournament. 

They’re the defending champions having lifted the cup on three occasions including 2012 & 2014. The management has yet to finalize the squad’s captain for the 2025 season while India’s former wicketkeeper-batsman Chandrakant Pandit serves as the team’s main coach.
