Special Renovations Carried Out at Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium for IPL 2025

The Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad is fully prepared to host 9 matches for the IPL 2025 Indian Premier League. The 18th edition of IPL 2025 is set to begin on March 22. The home team, Sunrisers Hyderabad, will play their first match against Rajasthan Royals on March 23 at Uppal Stadium.

The Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium is commonly known as Uppal Stadium, and its ownership and operations are managed by the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA). It serves as the home ground for both the Hyderabad cricket team and the Hyderabad women’s cricket team. This stadium has witnessed several thrilling IPL matches, where SRH fans have created an electrifying atmosphere. The spectators and supporters in the stadium have played a crucial role in boosting the morale of the home teams. Some of the most memorable moments of the IPL have taken place on this ground, including record- breaking batting performances and thrilling last over finishes.

This time as well, Hyderabad’s Uppal Stadium is fully prepared for IPL 2025. It has a seating capacity of 35000 spectators and includes 59 corporate boxes. The stadium will host seven league matches along with two additional matches, including a qualifier and an eliminator.

Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) President Jagan Mohan Rao tell that preparation for IPL 2025 are progressing rapidly. Extensive cleaning is being carried out to ensure a Spotless and comfortable environment for all visitors. Seating areas are being maintained to provide a clean and pleasant experience. Additionally, the washrooms and corporate boxes have been upgraded to enhance comfort for attendees. They further says that beautification effort are underway to give the stadium a fresh new look. A new Aditya Lounge has been established to offer a premium experience for guests attending the matches. He assured that all ongoing renovations and improvement will be completed before the start of IPL 2025, specifically by March 20,2025.

HCA has paid special attention to the concerns raised by fans and social media last year, particularly regarding the poor condition of washrooms. This year, HCA has focused on improving washrooms, corporate boxes, canopy lights, seating areas and common spaces. The aim is to provide fans with a better experience during the IPL and to establish Hyderabad as one of the premier venues for hosting sports events in the country. Additionally, HCA has prioritised transparency in ticket sales and the quality of food and facilities. Jagmohan has emphasized that ticket sales should be completely transparent and that food should be of high quality and reasonably priced.

HCA members recently held a meeting with the management of Sunrisers Hyderabad, focusing on the arrangement for IPL 2025. The objective was to ensure that fans do not face any issues during the tournament.
