RR vs GT: Riyan Parag was Out or Not Out a Controversial Dismissal in IPL 2025

 

The 23rd match of IPL 2025 was played between Gujarat Titans and Rajasthan Royals, in which Gujarat Titans secured a spectacular 58 runs victory. Rajasthan Royals had to face a tough defeat in this thrilling encounter. Meanwhile, a piece of news has emerged regarding Rajasthan Royals’ batsman Riyan Parag, who is also an all rounder. He has been performing brilliantly in the ongoing 18th seasons of IPL 2025 and is proving to be one of the most impactful players for Rajasthan Royals.

In yesterday’s match held in Ahmedabad, an update has emerged regarding Riyan Parag, which has sparked controversy. It was the 7th over and Rajasthan Royals had already lost two wickets. When Riyan Parag came in to bat for RR and Kulwant Khejroliya came to bowl for Gujarat Titans, a controversial moment occurred. Kulwant bowled a delivery that bounced and went straight to wicketkeeper Jos Buttler. The on-field umpire declared Riyan Parag out.

Parag signalled for a DSR review but even after the third umpire reviewed it, he was still declared out. At this point, Riyan Parag got angry and had an argument with the umpire. According to Parag the ground not from the ball making contact with the bat. Despite this, he was still given out and he walked back to the pavilion looking visibly disappointed and dejected. However, the exact reason behind this controversy is still unknown.

In IPL 2025, Riyan Parag has played 4 matches so far, in which he has scored 109 rubs with an average of 52.09 and a strike rate of 149.22. His highest score has been 84.
