Hailing from Kerala, Vignesh Puthur has made a remarkable leap despite not yet representing his state at the senior level. His unique chinaman bowling style caught the discerning eyes of the Mumbai Indians’ scouts during the Kerala Cricket League.

Though Puthur managed just three wickets in two matches, his potential stood out, earning him an invitation to attend three trials between September and October last year, for the IPL 2025 season. During these trials, he even bowled to Hardik Pandya and showed his skills under pressure.

Impressed by his performance, Mumbai Indians extended him an offer to join their squad. Puthur is now set to make his IPL debut as a left-arm wrist-spinner.
