India’s 2024 T20 World Cup-winning skipper doesn’t need a formal introduction. ‘Hitman’ is considered one of the best batsmen of his generation and arguably one of the greatest white-ball opening batters of all time!
His best knock came in 2012 when he scored 109*, amassing a total of 433 runs in total. Having idolized the ‘GOAT’ of cricket – Sachin Tendulkar from a young age, the 37-year-old has etched down several records. Those include – the most runs in T20 Internationals, most sixes in international cricket, most double centuries in ODI cricket (3), and of course the most centuries at Cricket World Cups.
The Nagpur-born right-hand batsman also has been awarded the ICC Men’s ODI Cricketer of the Year award in 2019. He has also been with MI since 2011, donning the #45 jersey, and captaining the team to not one, not two but five IPL titles – 2013, 2015, 2017, 2019 & 2020 – making him the most successful captain in the league’s history.
