24-year-old Maheesh Theekshana is one of RR’s five foreign players for IPL 2025. The Lankan shares the space at Royals with his countryman Hasaranga. While Hasaranga is a known all-rounder, Theekshana is a responsible right arm off break bowler. 

He shares a uncanny similar bowling action with his mentor and former Sri Lankan bowler, Ajantha Mendis. He has represented his home country in all three formats of the game. The Lankan was a key contributor in CSK’s title winning campaign in 2023. In fact, the spinner spinner impressed from the start and picked up 12 wickets in just nine matches during his debut IPL season in 2022.
