In 2020, South African speedster, Nortje showcased his talent, picking off 20 wickets from 16 matches at Delhi Capitals. The management there retained him through the past season until the Kolkata head honchos decided to bring him in, in 2025. 

The 31-year-old was named the Newcomer of the Year 2020 by Cricket South Africa. The same year, Nortje shot to fame during his time with the Delhi. In a memorable match against Rajasthan Royals, Nortje bowled the fastest delivery in the history of the tournament, clocking an astonishing speed of 156.22 km/h (97 mph). 

His ability to generate raw pace and extract bounce from the pitch has certainly made Nortje a valuable asset for both his domestic teams and his South African national side.
