IPL is not only famous for its well flavoured matches but its known for its controversial moments which shake the world into disbelief. #1. 2008 Lalit Modi Scandal
Lalit Modi was considered as main pillar of IPL foundation. Under his belt IPL became a big commercial success. But at the inaugural tournament itself Lalit Modi and Rajasthan Royals were under the radar for financial wrong doing. Lalit was accused in betting and match fixing. Though Rajasthan won the inaugural IPL season but it showed a exit gateway to Lalit Modi from further intervening the IPL scheme of things.
#2. 2013 Spot Fixing Scandal
IPL has went on through lot of changes through years but allegation of scandals always been definite name to it. One such scandal happened in 2013 IPL where three Rajasthan Royals players Sreesanth, Ajith Chandila, Aniket were caught red handed for spot fixing. For which they were given life time ban from playing cricket.
#3. Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals 2 year ban
This was world wide spread scandal where two big teams Csk and Rr were suspended for betting scandal during 2015 IPL. IPL governing committee found some illegal activities enacted from these teams. They found both teams were into betting scandal and by this IPL suspended both the teams for 2 years.
#4. Shahrukh Khan Wankhede Stadium Controversy
This was the most talk of the town talk, the incident happened on May 12,2012 . The match was between Mumbai Indians vs Kolkata where kolkata lost the match against Mi. To confront their players Sharukh stepped on the ground which was stopped by security personals after few minutes heated conversation between them happened.
He was very angry arguing with security staff for not letting him in to the restricted area of pitch side where players and match officials were only allowed, Some claimed there were some physical exchanges too but they were denied later. He was reported using foul language against security personals. After this incident MCA which controls the stadium banned Srk for 5 years. But due to heavy backlash it was reduced to three years.
