BCCI to IPL Teams: No Tampering with Pitches & Boundaries Before IPL 2025

IPL is around the corner BCCI and every franchise are gearing up for this mega event. But before this BCCI has sent a strict warning to State Boards that playing pitches, and boundaries should not be disturbed at any cost. It should be in optimal condition before the start of IPL 2025.

BCCI on their note pinned to state cricket boards that no franchise should disturb the venues that had been allocated to IPL matches. It came to consideration that several franchises tried to escalate the pitches and boundary areas for practice sessions. BCCI states that no outfield should be damaged and has to be kept in good condition before the tournament commences.

BCCI has officiated that Ranji Matches can be played on that. No private leagues such as Legends leagues and other such events are strictly prohibited on IPL venues, if it is subject to violation strict actions will be taken regarding it.

The playing area and outfield can be used for Ranji Matches

No local matches, intra matches, or other leagues and IPL franchises given permissions to practice on main field areas.

This message is directed to all main IPL venues ( Chennai, Mumbai, Delhi) and sub venues (Guwahati). But the main issues for some of the IPL franchise like Mumbai and Kolkata are that they don’t have separate practice pitches which could produce a major headache to them.
