Will Pakistani Players Return to IPL? BCCI VP Rajeev Shukla Revealed

The year was 2008 and IPL was just inaugurated paving its first edition, India had recently won the inaugural T20 World Cup with Ms Dhoni leading the team for first time, This was the platform where it all started BCCI came with the concept of IPL. All countries players were allowed to enroll their name and that season itself peaked its expectations.

Then came a major blow after the terror attack in Mumbai. The scenario changed completely, Pakistani players were banned for lifetime for playing IPL. From there onwards no Pakistani player included in IPL. Its been 17 years to that incident and bilateral series between Pakistan and India were completely stopped from 2012.

Vice President Rajiv Shukla On His Say

In a recent podcast of The Ranveer Show it was asked whether any Pakistani player will be seen playing IPL in near future. Rajiv tucked the hold on to franchies. He said its upto IPL franchies team take whether they want any Pakistani players in IPL. They never pinned any interest on picking the Pakistani players so we too don’t put their name on auction list.

Earlier Pakistani umpires and commentators were been part of IPL in 2014 season. Recently few of the Pakistani players have shown their interest in playing IPL, on this basis Shukla was asked can we see players in nearby future. He went on too say that few of franchise have shown their interest  but as you know its a tough scenario and there adds the political aspects so its difficult for the time being.
