After a quite good venture Williamson was retained by Srh in 2017. Where he played a significant role, he took over the captaincy from warner in 2018 and led the team to their second final but unfortunately couldn’t make his team over the line. It was quite on and off season after that for Williamson. In 2024 he was acquired by Gujrat Titans for base price. Although Williamson mostly not considered as T20 format player as he is a natural stroke player who like to build innings which doesn’t suit the fast paced environment never denying he is best in business. This factors led franchise for better options.
Prithvi Shaw
Prithvi Shaw who once was considered as the most upcoming prominent batsman of India has been sidelined by Ipl Under 19 world cup winning captain whom was considered as next Sachin is on his verge to become next Vinod Kambli who had lot of potential those days.

Shaw’s best IPL season was in 2021, when he scored 479 runs in 15 innings. After his best season in 2021 he was retained by Delhi capitals for further year. But in 2023 due to lack of his fitness, injuries, and poor form his season started to crumble. After that he never turned back he started partying and indulged into other activities which resulted that none of the franchise showed their interest in buying this talented guy.
Johnny Bairstow
England opener Johny Baistow is considered as dynamic opener of the game who can change the course of the match on his Bairstow made his Ipl debut in 2019 for Sunrises Hyderabad, he made a significant impact in his debut Ipl season where he scored 445 in 10 games with the strike rate of 157. It made srh to retain him but he couldn’t able live up the expectation as series of injuries and lack of form sidelined him.
In 2022 Bairstow was picked by Punjab kings once he returned back to auction. He was bought with a lucrative amount of 6.75 crores but couldn’t justify his price tag due to his poor form. In 2023 Bairstow opted out from ipl due to his leg injury. He returned in 2024 but things didn’t work and his poor form continued by this he was dropped from the team. Due to lack of inconsistency Bairstow couldn’t able to get a buyer in 2025 ipl auctions.

After two years of ban Chennai super kings were back to Ipl and Shardul got picked by csk at the price of 2.4 crore. Shardul played all the matches for csk. Chennai too won that year’s Ipl season marking a great comeback. From there it was no stopping for shardul next season his spells became more lethal and Chennai were into their consecutive final but couldn’t able to win against mighty Mumbai Indians. 2021 became the breakthrough year for Shardul where he took 21 wickets and was leading wicket taker for Chennai which paved them to their fourth Ipl title.
