Matheesha Pathirana is a Sri Lankan fast bowler, best known for his slingy action and deadly yorkers. He is often referred to as “Baby Malinga,” as his bowling action is similar to that of the legendary Lasith Malinga. Pathirana began his cricket journey at Trinity College, Kandy, and soon his talent earned him a place in the Sri Lanka Under-19 team. In 2022, CSK brought in Pathirana as a replacement for the injured Adam Milne. He was fortunate to get an opportunity in CSK’s playing XI, where he dismissed Shubman Gill with his very first delivery. Since then, there has been no stopping him. Today, he is a key player for the CSK team.
