Rajasthan Royals

Founded 17 years ago in 2008, Rajasthan Royals need no formal introduction to cricket loyalists. Led by the “Spin King’ Shane Warne himself, RR lifted the inaugural edition of the IPL back in 2008. Despite being written off as a title contender, the team showed exceptional grit and resilience, pummeling giants to their first and only title. 

Based in Jaipur, the capital city of Rajasthan, Sawai Mansingh Stadium serves as the team’s home ground. Former Indian captain ‘The Wall’ Rahul Dravid is the team’s main coach who will work along with the team’s director of cricket Kumar Sangakkara. 

Under Dravid’s captaincy, the team was also the runners-up of the 2013 iteration of the Champions League T20. Besides a few infamous controversies that led to their eventual ban in 2016 & 2017, RR has been a regular competitor in the Indian Premier League, even giving former champions a run for their money on several occasions. 

But can Sanju Samson and Co. turn the tides in their favor this IPL 2025 season and kiss the gold, paying a befitting tribute to the late Warne this year? Only time will tell!
